I hope you are all keeping up with our sponsored children by reviewing the correspondence I post on the kiosk in Fellowship Hall. Pastor Jeffrey pointed out to me the other day that through missionaries and friends that have travelled to the Philippines, Palestine, and Zimbabwe, each of our children has been visited by someone that has a connection to us. That means that a personal connection has been made as well as the monetary connection that we foster locally. That is a very powerful statement to these young people about how much we care about them.

I am also happy to report that as of this writing, donations to the quarter tube are on track to meet our goal of collecting $1,100.00 for the year. We send money to our children quarterly through a United Church of Christ program in partnership with the Disciples of Christ. I encourage you to continue to put what quarters you can into the tube each Sunday. For those of you with Sunday school children, I ask that you send your children with a quarter to put in the tube each week. When full the tube holds roughly $65.00. That means over the course of the year we must fill the tube almost 17 times to fulfill our sponsorship obligation. To date you have helped us collect $829.00 in quarters!

Thank you so much for continuing to support this ministry to the world’s less fortunate children. Supporting these children is one way we live out our mission statement: “We are a family of Christians raising children in Christian faith”.
