What's what and when's when....

Sunday morning worship is at 9:30 a.m., with nursery care for children three years of age and younger. Sunday School is at the same time for children age 4-high school (no Sunday School for junior and senior highs on the first Sunday of the month).
On Sunday mornings, the bell rings at 9:25, after which we begin a time of quiet preparation for worship as the prelude plays.

March 28, during fellowship hour, the Church Council is sponsoring an Indian dinner fundraiser to show our support for Pastor Jeffrey’s hard work and his well-earned summer sabbatical.

April 4, Easter, 8:45 am Easter Egg Hunt before the 9:30 am service. Children will remain with their parents for the 9:30 am service.

Ongoing Activities

Sunday school - Sundays, at 9:30 a.m. To learn more, or to register your child, call the church office Mon.-Fri., 9:00-noon, (847) 255-6687.

Confirmation - Every other Sunday, noon-1:30. If you're a 7th or 8th grader and would like to learn more about Jesus and the faith of the church, join us! Call Pastor Jeffrey for more information: (847) 255-6687.

Bible Study Plus, our adult Christian education class Tuesdays, from 9:45-11:00 a.m. in the church library, Pastor Jeffrey leading. Newcomers welcome!

Worship Schedule

Wednesday, March 3.

6:00 p.m. potluck, followed byLenten worship from 7:00-7:30 p.m. This year we’re singing favorite hymns and learning their stories. You can attend the potluck without coming to the service, or vice versa! Stephanie Abudayeh, piano.

March 7. 9:30 a.m. Anniversary Sunday/Third Sunday in Lent.

Communion. Judges 5 (the song of Deborah, a hymn of victory). Sermon about the history of our congregation on its 108th anniversary. Chancel Choir sings. Paul Cochran, organ.

Wednesday, March 10.

6:00 p.m. Lenten potluck, with worship from 7:00-7:30. See above.

March 14. 9:30 a.m. Fourth Sunday in Lent.

Daylight Savings Time begins. Spring ahead one hour. One Great Hour of Sharing offering received. John 12:17-19, 37-50. Sermon on why we believe in Jesus. Bell Tones and Junior Choir present music. Linda Styzek, keyboards.

Wednesday, March 17.

6:00 p.m. Lenten potluck, with worship from 7:00-7:30. See above.

March 21 9:30 a.m. Fifth Sunday in Lent.

Outdoor Ministry Sunday featuring the Rev. Dr. William Grice III and Janet Thompson from 1st Congregational Church, Des Plaines. No Sunday School. Paul Cochran, organ.

Wednesday, March 24.

Final potluck at 6:00 p.m., followed by worship from 7:00-7:30. See above.

March 28 9:30 a.m. Palm/Passion Sunday.

Children and youth lead us in procession. The children should arrive at 9:00 a.m. to practice. Sermon on Holy Week. Palm Sunday story: Luke 22:19:28-40, Passion: Luke 22:14-23:56 Paul Cochran, organ. Chancel Choir sings. Amanda Spence and the children report on Sunday School.
